The Advocacy group of GSSE SAMARTH meets weekly on Friday to discuss various currents issues relating to their interests. Students are given small responsibility of an assigned task to complete & report. Students are updated with current happenings from News Papers & News channels etc. They were encouraged to give their opinion on, Civic Rights, Socio Political Issues, Environmental concern, & Personal hygiene etc.
Our young entrepreneurs have a background story of their own. GSSE has a role in their formative years and nourish them towards a constructive platform..
Chitaranjan is the co-owner of his family shop. Some adaptations were made for his easy accessibility, keeping Chitaranjan mobility in mind. Chitaranjan late father was very instrumental in shaping Chitaranjan to this stage, with his continued support .He was best outgoing student of 2017-2018 academic session. Chitaranjan younger brother is very proactive to his involvement in the shop. Chittaranjan had nurturing years at GSSE for this mainstreaming.
Iswar Pradhan a very short stint at GSSE joined at the age of 14 straight to the vocational unit with weekly classes as he comes from Kurseong (Hill Town). He is the best outgoing students of year 2018-2019. Iswar excelled in his practical maths to money handling, so we could link that with billing & maintaining account on daily basis. He has become a productive entrepreneur of his family shop. Ishwar's enthusiasm is magnetic, as he volunteered to participate in function, coming all the way from Kurseong. Iswar's mother needs a special mention, to be put in the frame of his success.
Nischal Singhal is the active Networker of the Advocacy Group and member of GSSE Alumni Club. It was an experiment from classroom, keeping Nischals strength areas to nurture functional academic skills. Nischal hails from a business background, it was a natural setting to get into family business. Family is a proactive in involving Nischal in family business. Nischal is given additional responsibility of new shop which he updates as time to time. Nischal is an enthusiastic and active co-partner of family business .Distributer and supplier of Bags and Baggage's. Nischal maintain the stock at the godown and visit the shop, where their products are supplied. Technology has made things easier, as he operates from his smartphone actively. He drives his scooty, meet the GSSE friends in weekends and drop in at school with announcement of his new ventures. He visits his GSSE friends in weekends and make sure to connect them to the familiar teachers for a chat.
Ratan runs one small shop in his locality with support of his family. The process 2 of community rehabilitation started at GSSE convincing one parent was the biggest huddle. That their wheel Chair bound son could run a shop. Ratans locality and friends at the surroundings were biggest bridge in the journey. School started getting the provisions from Ratan's shop at initial years to get it started. Now Ratan runs his shop independently. He is one of the GSSE Advocacy Member.
